Registration:

Pre-registration by August 12th, $10.00 for the 5,000-meter run and $8.00 for the Fun Run/Walk. Registration is located in the Hershey High School cafeteria

Packet Pick-up:

Friday, August 21st, 2009 from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday, August 22nd from 7-8:45 a.m. in the rear of Hershey High School cafeteria.

Course:

5,000-Meter Run: The course begins behind Hershey High School, runs over macadam roads in the countryside and concludes back at the starting point.

Split times will be given at the 1-mile and 2-mile points. Water is provided near the midpoint of the race. Refreshments will also be provided at the finish line. There are no lockers or showers.

Fun Run/Walk: The Fun Run/Walk is a mile loop which begins behind the High School, runs around Hershey Middle School and concludes back at the starting point of the 5 K.

Prizes:

No cash awards or prizes will be given away until the awards ceremony. Awards ceremony will begin at the conclusion of the Fun Run/Walk. T-shirts guaranteed to all pre-registrants.

5,000-Meter Run: $200 for first place, $150 for second place, $100 for third place, $75 for fourth place, $50 for fifth place, for both male and female participants. No duplicates. Prizes will also be awarded to the top 3 finishers in each age category and many random prizes will be awarded.

Fun Run/Walk: Trophies or medals will be awarded to top finishers, male and female for 8 & under, 9-14 years and over 14 years.

If runner is over 40 or under 14, we suggest you consult your family physician before starting any strenuous physical activity. For registration information call 533-7138 or stop by the Hershey Recreation Center at 605 Cocoa Avenue, Hershey.

Directions

From Harrisburg Area: Follow 83N to 322E (take Ephrata Exit). Proceed through 5 lights (approx. 2.5 - 3 miles), and turn left at the 6th light onto Homestead Road. The high school is on the left.

From Lancaster Area: Take 283W to 743N (Hershey/Elizabethtown Exit). Proceed approximately 6 miles on 743N and turn right onto Homestead Road. The high school is just past the first light on the left.

From Lebanon/Palmyra: Follow 422W to the light at Homestead Road (just before the chocolate factory). Turn left on Homestead Road. The high school is approximately 1/2 mile on the right.
